You will pass the village of Kilmacanoge and drive through what is known as the "Rocky Valley". Take a very narrow road on the right hand side up the hill. Park at the highest point.

A few paths provide easy short walks for the visitor and give access to the highest point of these plains.
The scenic aspect is simply beautiful and Carrigoona stands as a balcony with a beautiful view on Wicklow.
Very few people knows about Carrigoona, apart for locals, and one is assure to find peace and tranquility. There is nothing like reading a good book and eating a sandwich from the top of Carrigoona when the weather conditions are good.
Eastwards, one can also see the Little Sugar Loaf mountain rising on the blue background of the Irish Sea.
